Crystal King

Crystal has been riding for 22 years.  During this of time, she has competed in many disciplines including: hunters, equitation, dressage, and eventing. These days, her main focus is eventing although she still competes in dressage for specific clients.  Crystal has always loved teaching and her methods emphase a strong, balanced position. Her biggest concern for her students is that they understand what a safe position is as well as the reason behind their actions.  She enjoys the challenge of training horses and has always had ‘project’ horses in her possession.  As a child, Crystal worked with: John Brennan and later Linda Langmeier.  She has had the priviledge to clinic with: Lou Denizard, Ann Bowie, Darren Chiaccia, Philip Dutton, and Bonnie Mosser.  Currently, Crystal takes monthly from Ann Guptil to further her dressage education.

As a child Crystal competed on the ‘A’ circuit and was CHJA’s reserve champion in short stirrup hunter and later 6th in the green ponies.  She received her maiden and novice flat in fences all before the age of 12. Later in college, she competed on UCONN’s intercollegiate team and won regionals in intermediate fences.  Although new to eventing, she has qualified her horse for the Beginner Novice Championships for the past two years.  Crystal is looking to qualify herself as well as her students in this year's Championship
